The Prince of Darkness wins two Grammys on Sunday night despite his ongoing illness.
This past weekend, all eyes were on the Grammys. Beyonce broke the record for most awards, Harry Styles won Album of the Year, and rock legend Ozzy Osbourne took home two gongs after recently announcing his retirement from international touring.
The acclaimed Prince of Darkness was crowned Best Rock Album for his 13th album Patient Number 9 and Best Metal Performance for the single 'Degradation Rules' from the project.
It's marks the first time in 29 years the rock star has won a Grammy. While he couldn't be there in person, Patient Number 9's album producer, Adam Watt, accepted the awards on his behalf. Robert Trujillo of Metallica joined Watt on stage for both acceptance speeches.
The speech included a shout-out to the late Taylor Hawkins and Jeff Beck, thanking them for their support of the track. Hawkins co-wrote Patient Number 9's song 'Parasite' and Beck worked on the album's namesake, 'Patient Number 9,' and 'A Thousand Shades.'

'Degradation Rules' also featured Tony Iommi, Osbourne's long-time friend and ex Black Sabbath guitarist and primary composer.
In his acceptance for 'Degradation Rules' on Ozzy's behalf, Watt conveyed two messages: "'I love you all,' and 'f*** off!'"
The awards show is a break in a very long line of bumps in the road for the ex Black Sabbath frontman. Just a week ago it was announced that his tour No More Tours 2 tour would no longer continue after it's five year hiatus. The singer determined that he could no longer combat his long-term health issues enough to continue onto the European stretch of his tour.
"I couldn't deal with the travel required," he told fans.
Now, Osbourne overcomes past frustrations by prevailing at the February awards show. Also in competition for the award of Best Rock Album was Black Keys' Dropout Boogie, Elvis Costello & The Imposters' The Boy Named If, Idles' Crawler, Machine Gun Kelly's Mainstream Sellout, and Spoon's Lucifer on the Sofa.
To quote the Prince of Darkness himself, he's "one lucky motherfucker."

Commenting on the wins, Osbourne also thanked the creative team he worked on the album with. "I was blessed to work with some of the greatest musicians in the world."
Despite his ongoing health problems, the 74-year-old Englishman still has plans to play shows. His team has been working to brainstorm ideas to allow Osbourne to continue performing without the stress of travelling. We'll wait and see what they come up with...
