Paddy Goodwin is back. And he's got a genuine baddie in his sights!
Paddy Goodwin has played with – as he puts it himself – "everyone from Wayne Kramer to Paul Brady” – with Horslips, The Radiators and The Atrix among his other dalliances. However, latterly, he has emerged also as a fiercely scathing songwriting commentator on the state of the world. And now, he has a new one for fans – and rebels generally – to feast their ears on.
His previous single 'Break For The Border' was about Donald Trump, Arlene Foster and Boris Johnson – what he has dubbed The Unholy Triumvirate. They are busy building walls instead of bridges. Entitled ‘Jesus Is My Vaccine’, his new single is a response to the behaviour of the U.S. President, Donald Trump, in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The track has Paddy Goodwin himself playing slide guitar and singing. "I'm a big fav of Jesse Winchester," he says. "His wife is sharing it in the States for me."
