Irish songsmith Paddy Hanna will support Burt Bacharach in his return to Dublin on 20th July.
Classic American hitmaker Burt Bacharach is heading to Dublin this summer. Bacharach revolutionized the music of the 1950s and 60s and is regularly bracketed with legendary names, ranging from Cole Porter to Sir George Martin, as a visionary pioneering new forms of music in the 20th century.
The songwriter behind numerous hits including ‘I’ll Never Fall in Love Again’, ‘Anyone Who Had A Heart’, ‘The Look of Love’, ‘I Say A Little Prayer’ and ‘Walk On By’, he has received three Academy Awards and eight Grammy Awards.
Paddy Hanna was announced today as support for Bacharach's upcoming date. His second album, 2018’s Frankly, I Mutate, was acclaimed by critics. For Hot Press, Edwin McFee praised the album's "lush retro pop sound".
The album featured strongly in many of the top 10 albums of the year lists, and this critical success led into various festival appearances, including Primavera and Electric Picnic, along with a tour alongside soul Legend Billy Ocean. 2019 sees Paddy Hanna continue to tour the album, as well as beginning work on his third album, due for release in 2020.
Paddy Hanna will support Burt Bacharach at Iveagh Gardens on Saturday, 20th July. Tickets start at €54.65 and are available from Ticketmaster.
