The man once of Grand Pocket Orchestra and No Monster Club recently played the Body & Soul stage at Electric Picnic.
Paddy Hanna wields a strong cult following in the Dublin music scene, and he'll be affording them the opportunity to see him live again as he performs Upstairs at Whelan's on the 6th of October.
He'll be performing tracks off of his sophomore solo project Frankly, I Mutate, which was released in March of this year to a widely warm reception (including an 8/10 from Hot Press). The 12-track album, produced by Daniel Fox of Girl Band, is a body of work that personifies the juxtapositions often present in Hanna's song writing, from lightness to darkness, awkwardness and charm, to triumph and gloom, it's a record that is a journey in itself.
The event organisers have described Hanna as having "an authenticity other musicians strive towards for years", along with a melancholic and dry sense of humour that is evoked both in the album and his live performances of its songs.
