Two heavy hitting forces from the ever growing Irish Hip-Hop scene have joined together to create one of the most unexpected collabs of the year.
Waterford artist Pat Lagoon has been gaining steady traction across the island and shows no sign of slowing with the release today of yet another single, 'Shadow', featuring BoyW1DR.
Fresh off the success of his previous single, 'Let Loose' with fellow Anomaly member, Evan Miles, The Goon steps it up, back to his dark trap roots with another banger produced by Tunes On Tick.
"I just feel like my music is kind of for everybody," said The Goon in a recent interview with Hot Press. "It’s easy on the ears. I focus a lot on the sonics, just the sound of it and then I like keeping it very diverse. Whether it’s chill, upbeat, down tempo, heavy, or just laid-back music, I just prefer switching it up as often as I can."
Lagoon has kept himself busy this year with now six singles, and more down the pipeline. He held a major support slot for Token at The Academy in Dublin, has collaborated with Ghost King Is Dead and RikShaw, and has upcoming releases with the likes of Awkward Z and ØMEGA.
Meanwhile, Dublin-based rapper BoyW1DR is living up to his name. Starting his music journey in 2015, his style and sounds have since evolved thanks to inspiration from artists like Travis Scott, Kanye West, and 88Glam. BoyW1DR has recently dropped his album, The Irish Wonderboy, which includes a feature from US rapper, Nessly.

"I feel like hip hop and rap music is very prominent as of now in Ireland because I think it’s the most popular genre in the world right now," said Lagoon. "I feel like it’s just a matter of time before Ireland really catches on to it because we have a lot of talent here as well."
