The 2006 track is taken from Stevens's 'Songs for Christmas' boxset of five separate EPs, but Lalor has her own unique take on the indie-folk song.
Rising 15-year-old Wexford indie artist Patricia Lalor has covered Sufjan Stevens's track 'That Was The Worst Christmas Ever' to mark the slightly demoralising pandemic occasion this year.
The track originally stems from Stevens's Songs for Christmas EPs - a massive boxset of holiday themed songs and carols recorded by the independent musician between 2001 and 2006.
The Detroit-born singer-songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist and indie icon utilised his Christian faith to write the mix of Christmas EPs, grappling with the murky reality of the festive season.
Lalor released her brand new EP, This Is How We Connect, While You Stand So Tall, earlier this month.

To mark the occasion, the chilled out singer-songwriter also revealed the visuals for the mesmeric indie anthem 'Same Place Again'. The eclectic and gripping collection of lo-fi alt-pop gems include previous singles ‘This Man Thought He Saved Me’ and ‘To Cope’.
