Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, George Clooney, Demi Lovato & Denis Rodman are among the other high-profile supporters of the Parkland students.
Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell have joined the March For Our Lives protest against gun violence in New York. The couple were spotted wearing 'We Can End Gun Violence' t-shirts close to the Dakota Building on West 72nd Street where Mark Chapman murdered John Lennon in December 1980.
"One of my best friends was shot not far from where we are now," said Macca who'd earlier visited the Strawberry Fields memorial in Central Park dedicated to his Beatles bandmate.
Former pro basketball player Denis Rodman has been busily posting shots of himself at the LA rally with, among others, George Clooney, Demi Lovato, Jimmy Fallon and Miley Cyrus
The Parkland student-lead initiative has also received support from Taylor Swift who says as part of an Instragram posting: "No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence. Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship.
"I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform. I’m so moved by the Parkland High School students, faculty, by all families and friends of victims who have spoken out, trying to prevent this from happening again."
The main rally in Washington D.C. has notably attracted a much larger crowd than the one that attended Donald Trump's Presidential inauguration. After releasing a new order banning transgender people from the military, Trump departed the capital to spend the weekend at Mar-a-Lago. En route to the resort he had to drive by an 'Impeachment Now' billboard put in place this week by an anti-Trump group.
He'll doubtless be watching tomorrow when porn star Stormy Daniels talks about the affair she claims to have had with Trump in 2006 shortly after his son Barron was born on CBS' 60 Minutes.
