McCartney's message was posted shortly before Starr's Peace & Love birthday celebrations.
Legendary Beatle Paul McCartney wished both his fellow bandmate Ringo Starr and his own father Jim McCartney a happy birthday.
Sharing a post on Instagram, the musician said: "Happy birthday to Ringo and to my Dad" who both share the same birthday of July 7.
The 82 year old McCartney wished Ringo Starr on his 84th birthday a "Fabulous day".
The well wishes came shortly before Ringo, whose real name is Richard Starkey, hosted his annual "Peace and Love" birthday celebrations in Los Angeles.

Shortly after McCartney's well wishing, Starr hosed a plethora of famous faces including Eagles former member Joe Walsh, comedian and actor Fred Armisen, musician Willie Watson, and actor Ed Begley Jr to his annual birthday event.
As part of the Peace and Love celebrations, the former Beatles drummer collaborated with Nasa who will post the message on their social media pages to help amplify the message across the planet.
Sharing a thank you video post peace and love birthday celebrations, Starr thanked fans and ambassadors who helped promote his message, saying: "Team Ringo is so appreciative for your efforts to bring Ringo’s birthday wish to fruition this year—thank you and Peace & Love"
