Multi-platinum selling singer, Paul Young, has been confirmed to play Bulmers Live at Leopardstown this July.
One of the UK’s finest ever soul voices, Paul Young released 14 Top 40 hits during a stellar period in the 80s, scoring number one singles and albums in both the US and in Europe.
Young really came into his own with a formidable accomplished solo debut album, No Parlez, released in 1983 that included the chart-topping single ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat’, which maintained the number one spot for most of that summer, followed by the huge international hit ‘Come Back and Stay’. With the release of his second album, The Secret of Association and the success of the single ‘Every Time You Go Away’, his status as a world star was confirmed.
Over the years, Young has continued to perform with various collaborators and with his band Los Pacaminos, touring globally to audiences of fans worldwide. After a lengthy absence of recorded material, Young released an album of vintage soul songs in 2016 called Good Thing produced by Arthur Baker and began a lengthy period of tours and festival appearances.
Paul Young is the second artist announced for this summer’s Bulmers Live at Leopardstown shows, following The Waterboys who will play at the famous Dublin racetrack on August 16. Now in its 9th year, Bulmers Live at Leopardstown has established itself as Ireland’s premier racing and live music event, bringing superb international acts to the racecourse over the years. Sister Sledge, The Human League, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Johnny Marr, and Happy Mondays have lined up alongside some of the best live Irish acts of our times, including The Boomtown Rats, Hot House Flowers, The Coronas and Ash.
