Pearl Jam say that "despite everyone's best efforts" the band "has yet to make a full recovery".
American rock outfit Pearl Jam, who were supposed to play two shows in Berlin today and yesterday, have cancelled as "the band has yet failed to make a full recovery."
The type of illness or which members have been affected has not yet been revealed to the public.
The band stated that they wished "a reschedule had been possible for this tour leg," adding that they "hope to come back to Berlin soon," and that tickets would be refunded at the point of purchase.
The grunge legends also canceled their Tottenham Hotspur Stadium shows scheduled for Saturday night the day before, saying that they "had no other option."
The group took to Instagram to share a statement regarding the cancellations.

"We are sorry to share that the Pearl Jam concerts scheduled for Tuesday, July 2nd and Wednesday, July 3rd in Berlin are cancelled," they wrote. "Despite everyone's best efforts, the band has yet to make a full recovery."
Continuing, they added, "The impacts of this decision are not lost on us. We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money, and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band, and it is heartbreaking to have to disappoint you.
"We also appreciate the many people whose hard work goes into making these shows happen," the band said, "Please trust we never take these decisions lightly and try to do everything possible to show up for you all."
They concluded the statement by thanking their fans for their continued support and understanding, saying that it "means the world."
In the past, Pearl Jam have had to postpone shows due to Eddie Vedder losing his voice as was seen in 2018 during the groups London O2 arena gig.
Since forming in Seattle in 1990, Pearl Jam has sold over 85 million albums and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
The rockers are currently touring the world to promote their latest album, Dark Matter, with support acts, including former Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft and Irish indie rockers The Murder Capital.

They recently played their first Dublin gig in 14 years (having last performed at the O2—now 3Arena in 2010) in Marlay Park as part of their worldwide tour.
Their next live show is currently scheduled for July 6 in Barcelona.
