Listen to the latest single, 'Loneliness,' from the synth-pop legends below.
It’s been a busy start to the year for Pet Shop Boys, who just released a brand new single ‘Loneliness’ ahead of their coming album Nonetheless, set to drop on 26 April 2024 via Parlophone Records.
‘Loneliness,’ which Pet Shop Boys describe as "uplifting music with reflective lyrics" is available to stream now and will see a CD release on 16 February. The vibrant track speaks to PSB’s classic, sky-reaching style, which situates the forthcoming album in an atmosphere both dazzling and anthemic.
Nonetheless marks the duo’s first collaboration with producer James Ford, who previously worked with Arctic Monkeys, Depeche Mode, Blur, Gorillaz and Simian Mobile Disco.
Pet Shop Boys spoke about the creative process around the record: “We wanted this album to be a celebration of the unique and diverse emotions that make us human.
From the more dance-orientated tracks to the raw poignancy of the introspective ballads, with their beautiful string arrangements, each track tells a story and contributes to the overall narrative of the album.”

To celebrate their string of new releases, the ‘West End Girls’ duo will perform a five-night stint at London’s Royal Opera House in July. In 2016, Pet Shop Boys became the first electronic group to play the venue with a four performance run that was so rapturously received they returned there in 2018 for further sold-out shows garnering even greater acclaim than before.
Having sold in excess of 50 million records, Pet Shop Boys are undoubtedly one of the UK’s most successful duos. Since their first chart-topping single ‘West End Girls’ in 1985, they have forged a path that is uniquely their own.
Such is the strength of their catalogue that highly-decorated Pet Shop Boys have accrued an endless plethora of acclaim and accolades, including three BRIT awards, two Ivor Novellos and multiple Grammy and Billboard Music nominations. But such honours fail to fully encapsulate their status as a genre-defining household name; their songs permeating tabletop radios, filling homes far and wide with their sonic charms and magnetic sound.
Notably emboldened and driven by the huge resurgence spawned by their last trilogy of studio albums and the ongoing success of their Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits Live tour, Nonetheless is the sound of a group at a new peak of their remarkably consistent creative power.
Nonetheless is now available to preorder, which grants listeners pre-sale access to purchase Royal Opera House tickets. You can preorder the record here.
