Ahead of his upcoming farewell tour, the legendary rock musician has revealed his Inclusion-Body Myositis diagnosis.
Peter Frampton has announced that he suffers from a degenerative muscle disease, which he was diagnosed with four years ago. Talking to Rolling Stone last week, Frampton said he is now attempting "to record as much as I can in the shortest space of time."
The legendary musician, an original member of Humble Pie, is often remembered for his hit live album Frampton Comes Alive! Over the years, he has worked with the likes of David Bowie, Ringo Starr, and Pearl Jam.
He claims that his Inclusion-Body Myositis diagnosis won't impact his singing voice, but will eventually affect his guitar playing. Although the disease is progressing, Frampton told Rolling Stone that he wants to have his farewell tour while "I'm still at the top of my game":
"I want to rock it. I know that this tour, I will be able to do everything I did last year and the year before. That’s the most important thing to me. I want to go out screaming as opposed to, “He can’t play anymore.” I’m not going to do that. I’m a perfectionist and I can’t do that."
