"Fran attended secondary school and college in Dublin, and is a member of the local arts and music industry," the petition reads.
A petition has been launched on change.org to allow Francisca Sotomayor – a Chilean 23-year-old artist who records music under the name Vaticanjail – to remain in Ireland, where she has been living for nine years.
According to the petition description, Fran received "a proposal letter from the Minister of Justice stating that she should make a decision to either remain in Ireland and face a deportation order made against her or to 'leave the state voluntarily'."
"As of this moment in time Fran has had no intentions of moving away from Ireland as her career, friendships, communities and life are all what makes her consider Ireland 'home'," the description continues. "Uprooting her entire life in Dublin is simply not an option for her."
The petition goes on to state that Fran now "has the option to appeal her denied application (which has been in process for almost two years now), and supporting documentation must be provided highlighting reasons as to why Fran is a valued member of Irish society."
Since it was published yesterday, the petition has garnered over 850 signatures.

Just a few days ago, Hot Press featured Vaticanjail in our weekly 'New Irish Songs To Hear This Week' article – for 'COLISIÓN', her powerful collaboration with Dublin electronic producer Rhoshi, taken from his recently released debut album, IMAGE.
Back in December, Vaticanjail established herself as captivating emerging force in Irish music with the release of her debut single, 'Water', mixed by lauded Dublin producer Wastefellow.
"We are creating this petition in support of Fran to show the Minister that this decision would be a mistake on their behalf, and would put Fran's wellbeing, career, relationships and life at stake," the statement on change.org reads. "Any and all support is appreciated.
"The main source of support that Frans needs for her appeal is personal letters, outlining your own stories as to why Fran should be allowed to stay. These letters can be submitted directly to Fran via email which is [email protected]. Alternatively you can use a template letter that we can provide for you, to be requested via email. Thank you for your support."
