The life and work of Philip Lynott is being celebrated in the “Bash For Philo”, which takes place in Dublin this weekend.
The ‘Bash’ – now in its fifth year – is sponsored by Eddie Rocket’s. It is timed to coincide with the birthday of the famous Thin Lizzy frontman, who would have been 69 on August 20, this year. Doubtless, he’d have had a special joke to cover that rather significant and very rock ’n’ roll age!
The show, which takes place at the Button Factory on Saturday August 18, will feature a selection of the world’s finest Thin Lizzy tribute bands, performing what is promised to be "all the big Lizzy and Lynott hits for fans that travel from all over the world."
The full bill for this year’s bash is:
· The Black Rose from Scotland
· Dizzy Lizzy from England

· Thinner Lizzy from Dublin
· Shades of Lizzy from Dublin
Special guest on the night will be ex-Rainbow frontman Graham Bonnet, whose powerful voice graced the band's UK Top 10 hit single, 'Since You’ve Been Gone').
A giant birthday cake will be cut for Phil and enjoyed by fans on the night.
There will be a Pre-Bash event at The Grand Social on Friday, August 17 while – to repeat! – the Bash itself takes place at The Button Factory on Saturday August 18. The official after-party will happen at Fibber Magee’s Rock Bar. It promises to be a brilliant Lizzy-fied night – thanks to Eddie Rockets, and the great Philo!
