The 21-year-old tells Hot Press what to expect from her set, some of her favourite acts playing and how she's ready for all conditions!
I'll be in the studio on Friday morning, then i'll be heading down after that. I can't wait. I know the weather is supposed to be a bit hit and miss, but i'll have my wellies with me just in case!
It's my second time to perform at the Picnic. Last year, I played 2fm’s Play The Picnic Oxfam Ireland's Oxjam Tent. I really enjoyed it, but it was very hectic, you don't really know the routine. This year, I feel I have my feet firmly planted, i am more aware of what to expect.
The Orchid Thieves Den was great craic last year. They were giving away prizes and they had loads of games going on. I won a wolf mask and they had a dice you could roll with dares on it, it was really fun.
I am playing twice on the Saturday, on the Body & Soul and Little Big Tent Stages, once on the Sunday, on the Salty Dog stage and i'll be chatting to Hot Press in their Chatroom too. My set will be slightly stripped back this year. I'll be playing two new songs and the upcoming single 'Plastic'. I might perform a few covers. I do a Lana Del Ray and Lady Gaga mish-mash. I try and make each cover my own.
At this year's EP I definitely want to see Lana Del Rey. I had tickets to see her before, but unfortunately i couldn't go. There's no way i am missing her this time. I keep hearing loads about Saint Sister and Otherkin, i'll definitely try and catch them. I think i am on at roughly the same time as Gavin James, but i have a fifteen minute gap to try and see the end of his set.
See Áine Cahill performing on Body&Soul: MainStage, Saturday 3rd September, 18:15 - 19:00, Little Big Tent, Saturday 3rd September, 13:30 - 14:00 and Salty Dog, Sunday 4th September, 17:10 - 18:00.
