The Athy duo did not disappoint with their Electric Picnic debut.
Picture Perfect are the fledgling band currently gracing the cover of our new issue, and boy do the crowds love them.
The two Athy lads have experienced a meteoric rise to fame after forming their band in October. Their packed performance at the Rankin Stage was further affirmation of their national acclaim.
The audience lapped up their distinctive medley of rock, pop and indie. Ryan O'Shaughnessy's soulful vocals had all the girls swooning with 'Saviour' and 'I Don't Know Why'. The stirring guitar riffs and relentless drumbeat echoed 'Champagne Supernova' and 'Where the Streets Have No Name'. 'For You' exposed that beautiful voice to full effect with its free-style jazzy vibes. This song would definitely fit perfectly at the end of a romcom.
The most striking feature of the band was how minimalistic their mise en scene was. The extra paraphernalia was stripped back to expose the perfect vocals and raw musicianship of the band - making them more endearing if possible to the audience.

'Dream' had the entire tent singing their hearts out. You know you're witnessing stars in the making, when the colossal audience know every word of the song.
Not your usual generic boy band, Picture This have brought a plucky freshness to Irish music that is infectious.
It looks like busy and prosperous times await the duo as they have sold out a tour of venues around Ireland.
They were one of the darlings of this year's Electric Picnic, and if they continue to ride their wave of success, what's to stop them from shaking up the main stage next year?
