This is the band's second release after an almost 18-month long break.
Irish outfit Picture This released their brand new single ‘Song to Myself’ on St.Patrick’s Day via RCA Records, Germany. Following the feel-good, infectious, ‘Get On My Love’, the band is back with a more intimate song for fans.
After an almost 18 month-long break, the new release is the band’s second following their show-stopping performance at last year’s Electric Picnic’s main stage, performing to an audience of over 70,000 punters.
Speaking on ‘Song to Myself’, the band’s Ryan Hennessy says, “To be quite frank, ‘Song To Myself’ is a personal letter that I wrote to myself that I never intended on sharing with the world. It was in a delicate moment sat on my couch in my living room on June 30th, 2021 when the song poured out of me in a matter of minutes,” he continues.
“It was as though my subconscious took over and said ‘Ryan you need to verbalise all of these deep emotions that are bubbling under the surface’, and that I did.”
“One day in the studio I reluctantly played a voice note of the song and Jimmy told me it was too important a message to keep to myself and it would be a shame not to share it with the world. There was an amazing comfort in that as I believed at the time that I was the only person who had these feelings but it turns out I’m not.”
“‘Song To Myself’ at its bare bones is a song about trying to navigate being human and I’m so scared to share it with the world but here we are!” he adds.

Having amassed nearly 450 million streams, and over one million monthly listeners, Picture This has captured the following of fans from all over the world. Apart from their headline show at last year’s Electric Picnic, the Kildare-based band has previously sold out stadiums including a five-night stand at Dublin’s 3Arena, and garnered praise from Billboard, ThisSongIsSick, among others.
Their debut 2017 self-titled record went triple platinum in Ireland, clinching the number one spot on Ireland’s Overall Chart for four weeks, and topping the Streaming Chart for seven weeks. Their two proceeding albums, 2019’s, Mdrn Lv and Life in Colour in 2021, also went on to secure a number one place on the Irish charts.
