The mural – by Stephen Considine – is located on Chancery Street in Dublin 7.
In the run-up to the release of their eagerly anticipated new album Name Your Sorrow this Friday, Pillow Queens have unveiled a new mural by renowned artist Stephen Considine of BiPolar Bear – and are inviting fans to contribute to the special piece.
The vibrant mural, located at Fegan's wall on Chancery Street in Dublin 7, is being described as "a canvas for self-expression", with passersby encouraged to add to the piece by writing down their own sorrows or joys, tying in with the name of the band's fearlessly frank new LP.
Name Your Sorrow is inspired by a line from Irish poet Eavan Boland's 'Atlantis—A Lost Sonnet':

"...the old fable-makers searched hard for a word
to convey that what is gone is gone forever and
never found it. And so, in the best traditions of
where we come from, they gave their sorrow a name
and drowned it."
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the mural, which was unveiled on Saturday, Pillow Queens commented:
"We wanted to create an opportunity for people to reflect on their emotions and experiences. The mural is a symbol of both resilience and celebration, inviting individuals to give voice to their sorrows while also embracing moments of joy."

Name Your Sorrow scored a powerful nine-star review in the current issue of Hot Press – with Will Russell describing it as "a superb guitar record, reminiscent at times of the cyclone sonics of Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot", and a match for "the record, last year's marvellous outing from boygenius."
Pillow Queens are set to release a new single, 'Heavy Pour', from the project tomorrow, alongside a video directed by Kate Dolan.
Name Your Sorrow is out this Friday, April 19.
