A limited edition 7” single of both tracks will be available on 19 July.
American rock band Pixies released their first new music this year, an AA-side single ‘You’re So Impatient’ and ‘Que Sera, Sera’.
The double sided single features the punk track ‘You’re So Impatient,’ described by vocalist Black Francis as “a slightly comedic suburban culture moment: there’s this guy, there’s this gal, there’s this tug-of-love dynamic going on.
“But the backdrop is the mall. And while the mall is crass, it’s also a very zombie, rock ‘n’ roll horror movie setting.”
The second track, a dark folk twist on the classic ‘50s ‘Que Sera, Sera,’ was originally recorded for the US TV show From.
This year marks 35 years since their platinum-certified album Doolittle placed the band into the UK Top Ten, and 20 years since their celebrated reunion at Coachella.

The band is currently on a North American tour with Modest Mouse and Cat Power.
They will return to Ireland August 27-29 for headline shows in Galway Airport, Custom House Square, Belfast, and RDS Simmonscourt, Dublin.
The upcoming performances will be Pixies second time returning to Ireland this year, following three sold out shows in the 3Olympia in March.
The two latest singles mark new bassist Emma Richardson’s first songs recorded for the band.
After playing with Band of Skulls for over a decade, the bass player joined the Pixies after the departure of Paz Lenchantin in March.
Tickets for the Pixies Irish shows are available here.
