Polish police say they’ve closed down the largest ever producer and distributor of pirate CDs and DVDs in the European Union.
54,000 discs were seized and four people detained following raids in Warsaw and Rybnik on Wednesday.
The “industrial scale” operation is believed to have shipped nine million counterfeit albums all over Western Europe, with some undoubtedly pitching up in Ireland. Titles seized include recent BAFTA winners Slumdog Millionaire and The Wrestler.
