The rapper was charged with battery of a police officer among a number of charges.
Polo G was arrested on Saturday morning in Miami after an incident with police following the rapper’s release party for his new album Hall of Fame.

The rapper was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center early Saturday morning.
The Miami Herald reported that a vehicle transporting Polo G and his 16 year old brother was stopped for a “traffic infraction,” as stated in the police report of the incident. An officer attempted to handcuff the rapper after the two ended up in a struggle on the ground.
The police report also stated that the rapper threatened officers while in custody. “I will kill you, I swear I will use these fists to beat the shit out of you and knock your ass out,” he allegedly said to officers.
The Miami Police tweeted following the incident. “The Miami Police Department is aware of the incident involving Mr. Taurus Bartlett, also known as Polo G, and another male juvenile. We will provide updates as they become available. The department has initiated a review of this incident, which will include an examination of all camera footage to ensure adherence to departmental policy and law.”
Stacia Mac, Polo G’s mother and manager took to social media to respond to the incident. She defended her son and accused the police of stopping the rapper and his brother “because they were driving while Black.”

Mac also responded to a tweet regarding Polo G’s charges, “None of these charges would be possible if the POLICE did not make contact with my son Polo G!!! He was NOT the driver. He was a PASSENGER in a professionally licensed vehicle with security. He was moving smart and correctly. What more could he have done,” she said.
Polo G recently performed his new single ‘Rapstar’ on The Tonight Show on Friday. The rapper’s latest album, Hall of Fame was released last Friday (June 11).
