Having released a handful of singles and debut EP ‘Get Your Life’ over the last four years, the band need no introduction to the Dublin music scene.
Dublin soul-infused pop-funk sextet Toshín are back and better than ever with their new single ‘She' following a short break from music.
Founded in 2016, Toshín have evolved over the last four years into the vibrant 6-piece it is today. Taking inspiration from a variety of music spanning from early Motown to modern soul/RnB artists such as Tank and the Bangas and Anderson. Paak, their original songs can be put into an incredibly wide range of genres.
Comprised of lead vocalist Tosin Bankole, multi-instrumentalist Louis Younge, Taran Plouzane and various collaborators like Lisa Rogers (Girlfriend) and Ele Breslin (Zapho).
'She' marks a new direction for the band sonically and in aesthetic. Written and recorded amid lockdowns and restrictions, the single captures the experience of a more grown-up character than we’ve seen previously. Sensual imagery and effortlessly smooth musicianship combines to portray a message of self-awareness and self-love, in spite of various obstacles and insecurities.
“The song is really about learning to love myself before loving someone else," Tosin Bankole says.
"I’m really done with trashy men, and I’m ready to start a new chapter in my love life.”

Their exhilarating live shows span from chilled out, heartfelt soul to all-out James Brown-esque funky goodness, and is guaranteed to have any crowd dancing. Over the last few years, Toshín have played some amazing shows and festivals as well as embarking on their first ever tour around Ireland, playing five shows all over the country. The tour was unfortunately cut short by COVID-19
restrictions in March. Going forward, the band are planning another long-form project in the future, and more lively performances for their followers.
