Pop Smoke named most popular artist of 2020 by SoundCloud

Late rapper Pop Smoke has been dubbed Soundcloud's most streamed artist of 2020. The hip-hop artist was killed in February at the age of 20.

SoundCloud said in a statement that Smoke was “beloved by the SoundCloud community and they continue to show it”. His music was streamed over 191,500,188 times in 2020.

There are currently 65 songs from Pop Smoke available on the platform, with his single 'For The Night' accounting for 40 million of his streams. Pop Smoke’s debut album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon was released posthumously in July, and featured a star-studded cast of guest artists like Quavo, DaBaby and Future. His manager Stephen Victor has claimed that more posthumous work from the young artist will be released.
