Cork producer/musician Cian Sweeney, aka 1000 Beasts, will release his debut album Naruda on April 1st.
1000 Beasts has teamed up with dancer Sophia Egan for his latest visual project, the music video for 'Naruda (Fall In Your Arms Again)' - taken from his upcoming debut album Naruda.
Arguably one of the most prolific producers to come out of Cork in years, Cian Sweeney (1000 Beasts, named in honour of his endless list of collaborators) took his time to create his first full-length solo project. Featuring co-writes and vocals from an eclectic mix which includes FeliSpeaks, Célia Tiab, LENII, Arthur Valentine, April and Orla Gartland; 1000 Beasts has established himself as an artistic force that straddles the line between soulful, indie-pop and electronic soundscapes on Naruda.
The self-directed visuals for 'Naruda (Fall In Your Arms Again)' see Sweeney appear as himself, alongside Sophia Egan as she shows off her passionate movements from various locations around Cork. The afro-infused soulful electronic track shows off the best of his production skills while the choreography injects his music into physical form. Egan has worked as a mentor for the Cork Migrant Centre Youth Initiative Against Racism (CMC YIAR) and appeared in the initiative's short film Parallel Souls last July with Tumi Isa Daniels.
'Naruda (Fall In Your Arms Again)' will be followed by the album release and focus track 'Glass Magic', featuring Arthur Valentine, on April 1st.
The powerful album was born in lockdown. Like so many artists, with the shut down of the live music sector in the past two years, 1000 Beasts reverted to the studio and began creating countless loops, demos and instrumentals - the bare bones of what would become Naruda.

Then, identifying the most eclectic mix of talent he could across Ireland, from up and coming acts to more established forces, Cian started collaborating and recording remotely and in person to craft this work. Seamus Harty, Alex Tierney, Toucan, Lenii, Briony, Drew Hall, Carrie all joined Sweeney's team of "beasts".
Thus far, Cian's production work has seen him garner over 20 million streams on Spotify for collaborators songs and his own artist project. He's also a platinum-selling producer thanks to his work on the hit song 'Fake Fine' by Robert Grace.
His debut EP On A Different Page was released in July 2020 through Unity Group (Paris) followed by the major success of his remix for Elaine Malone (You), which was recently released on the new Café Del Mar album Café Del Mar Café del Mar XXVII (Vol. 27).
Recent releases include 'For You & I' with rising Irish artist Alex Tierney, and ‘NYCBB’ with French singer Célia Tiab (Kojaque, Soft Boi Records). Both releases achieved playlisting on numerous Spotify editorials on release. 1000 Beasts recently released 'For The Honour Of The Pen' with Irish-Nigerian poet and performer Felispeaks.
He was at his beguiling best on ‘I Wish’, a glitchy groover which sounds like summer. The honied tones of Waterford’s Carrie Mullane featured, whose own Tears Of A Fool five-tracker is due to arrive this year.
2022 will see 1000 Beasts perform at a string of Irish festival and headline shows - including St. Patricks' Day festival, Dublin and Body&Soul Festival in June. Album launch gigs in Dublin and Cork are also on the map for this skyrocketing artist.
