Check out the emotive visual accompaniment to the Irish folksters' popular tune below.
3-piece contemporary folk ensemble Amble have shared the video for their song ‘Lonely Island.’
Directed and produced by Donnagh Fitzpatrick, and featuring a cast of, Cara Mani Bradley, Dan Whelan and David Hegarty, the artfully filmed piece reflects the song’s bittersweet nostalgia.
The track tells the story of an elderly man’s return to the island of his birth, capturing a sense of disillusionment caused by the discovery that his home and way of life have long been forgotten.
Originally released on September 8 2023, ‘Lonely Island’ is rapidly closing in on 1 million streams.

The band have a string of Irish shows planned for March, with gigs in Limerick, Cork, Dublin and Belfast. Tickets are available now via ticketmaster.ie.
Hailing from the Midlands and West of Ireland, Robbie Cunningham, Ross McNerney, Oisin McCaffrey formed Amble over their mutual love of folk music – citing John Prine, Paolo Nutini and compatriots Ye Vagabonds amongst their influences.
They enjoyed a fruitful 2023, sharing a live EP and selling out their headline show at Dublin’s Sugar Club 5 months before they set foot on the stage.
