The ice cool Travis Gilbert has re-emerged with an alter ego and a new sound that defies categorisation.
Northern Irish artist Travi The Native is set to drop his new single 'COOL' on September 4, blending electro-pop with a soulful overtone with his brand new alter ego.
On his own personal crusade to end toxic masculinity partially via his striking wardrobe, Travi released his debut single 'Heavy Love' in May in anticipation of his debut EP this October.
With a sound reminiscent to that of Tom Petty, Talking Heads, Maggie Rogers and The 1975; Travi The Native is the latest musical incarnation of Travis Gilbert.
‘COOL’ is a song about fitting in rather than transforming who we are to suit the crowd we want to be in.
Even when we’re older, a little wiser and know that we probably shouldn’t, it's a hard habit to break.
The track is also about no one ever really knowing the true definition of ‘cool’, and the realisation that being comfortable with who you are is probably cooler than seeking the approval of strangers.

A lot of people are quick to make a decision about you based on your appearance, your walk, your style, your job or your social media account.
"I do that too, so I wrote a song about me coming to terms with being exactly like the
other 20 something folk I judge from afar," Travi said of the track.
"It’s also about drugs - I probably shouldn’t say that though."
