Belfast composer and producer Amerik is building up further anticipation for new 'Bouquet' EP with a brand new single.
Ambient electronic producer Amerik has follow up his latest single 'Olive' with brand new track 'Apricot', featuring Little Rivers (Callum Cairns).
Officially released tomorrow, the collaborative track transports the listener into a state of symphonic ambience using a landscape of swelling synths and intricately developed tones and textures.
Amerik's use of production techniques as a backdrop to showcase Cairns’s ethereal vocals showcase a masterclass in modern electronic music. Harmonising Cairns' voice with its own melodies and paralleling it with a swelling of synth glory; 'Apricot' is as euphoric as it is poignant.
Blending together compelling production, delicate instrumentation and complex layers, the Belfast musician creates a dream-like haze with effortless finesse on 'Apricot'.
“Apricot was birthed out of the opening melody I recorded on my OP-1 synthesizer and then collaborating with Little Rivers to create this dark, yet joyous song about reflection and moving forward in life," Amerik said of the track's origins.

"Little Rivers' voice has this amazing ability to draw you and then reveal this wide openness and beauty.”
Callum Cairns was also full of high praise when asked about the experience of working with Amerik:
“Apricot is about that exact moment following something awful when you feel yourself starting to accept things as they are. Amerik being the wonderful artist that he is sculpted a gorgeous, dream-like backdrop that balanced perfectly the regret and loss with the celebration of resilience and a brighter future.”
Amerik's Bouquet EP is a collaborative project featuring four of the best local Northern Irish songwriters; including Gareth Dunlop, Travi The Native, Little Rivers and Pete Wallace, set for release in April 2021.
With funding from the Arts Council NI and the National Lottery, Amerik created the highly anticipated EP project and has garnered major excitement for the imminent release.
“The EP name came from a photograph I took from my wedding day in 2019, and how each flower within a bouquet has their own unique style, but all complement each other," Amerik says of Bouquet's genesis.
"In the same way, each track is unique to the artist through their lyrics, but centred around my co-writing, composition and arrangement.”
