Hot Press is delighted to host the premiere for the song, out everywhere April 28th, from the Dublin-based indie outfit.
It's no secret we're all longing for a return to pre-Covid life. But Blue Fish Diamond's latest single, 'Free', truly harks back to a day before we all had to stay inside. The genre blending blues-folk-rock track is a rhythmic ode to pre-Covid life with an infectiously upbeat, Tom Petty-like hook.
"This last year has been a very challenging time for all of us," says Jim Murphy. "Thankfully, there is hope on the horizon with the roll-out of vaccines, but we are still some months away from enjoying the freedoms of what was once everyday life. 'Free' looks forward to that time, when we can embrace ‘sweet life once again'."
The ever-rising indie band, formed by Jim Murphy in 2016, is gearing up for the release of their new album this year. Blue Fish Diamond's debut record, From Dark To Light, was ecstatically reviewed by Hot Press back in 2018 – and if 'Free' is any indicator, we'll be thinking along the same lines for the next one.
