It's another great single from the narrator of raw stories
With Ciarán Moran's last single, 'Falling Down', trending on hotpress.com for over 72 hours, we're expecting a big reaction to our premiering today of the follow up, 'A Father Figured'.
Written and recorded during lockdown – we look forward to when we don't have to say that anymore! – its "Although the truth has been denied, the story still exists" refrain underlines his reputation as the narrator of raw stories. We mean it entirely as a compliment when we say that he's got a bit of a James Taylor thing going.
From Dublin's North Inner City, Moran has been mentored by the likes of Christy Moore and Roddy Doyle, and built up a sizeable following supporting Aslan, Damien Dempsey, Brian Kennedy and Bagatelle who've also taken a shine to the 23-year-old.
Not adverse to throwing in the odd hip hop beat and melody, his first solo headliner last year in the Dublin Underground was a sell-out, and he's also stepped up to the plate when presented with such big stages as the Olympia and Vicar St.
