Watch the acclaimed singer-songwriter's new music video below.
Ahead of the release of her eagerly anticipated upcoming EP, Walking With Natives (out May 4), Dani Larkin has shared a powerful new video for the opening track from the project, 'Body & Bone' – premiering below.
Filmed during the lauded singer-songwriter's residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in Annaghmakerrig, the video features actor and choreographer Molly Mew.
"'Body & Bone was created from the need to explore who we are, where we come from and how to begin again," Dani explains. "I've written poems for as long as I can remember but it feels intensely vulnerable to share this aspect of myself.
"As the opening track from Walking With Natives it creates space for the pathway that is to come, from Notes For A Maiden Warrior, Between Worlds with the Ulster Orchestra and 'Bloodthirsty' with the RTE Concert Orchestra, 'Body & Bone' strips it all back to the quiet place where thoughts themselves originate. Molly Mew captures the essence of this work beautifully and breathes movement and life into that which has long been forgotten."
Dani – who established herself as one of the country's most captivating emerging talents with the release of her debut album, Notes For A Maiden Warrior, in 2021 – describes her upcoming EP as "an ode to the land and the sea, the flora and fauna, the mountains and the hills, the cliffs and towering trees."
"It serves as a catalyst for change, change that exists in conversations, the air that we breathe and the living elements that have gone before us and will remain long after we are gone," Dani continues. "It is a cry of solidarity amidst catastrophic climate change”
