Hot Press are delighted to premiere the debut single from Irish artist, Dove Ellis,‘Adonis’, which officially drops tomorrow, May 19th. This release marks the first in a highly-anticipated series of upcoming singles due to drop for the singer, now based in Manchester, who blends RnB, pop, country, funk, and alt-rock for a unique fusion of sound.

Having quickly garnered a solid fan-base through his DIY-style approach, via Instagram, Soundcloud and most importantly, his live performances. Without having released any live music, Ellis has succeeded in selling out Manchester’s Zombie Shack, London’s The Spice of Life and Galway’s the Roisin Dubh venue.

Named after the mortal lover of the goddess Aphrodite in Greek Mythology, 'Adonis' features a heavily-syncopated rhythm, with a laid-back fusion of alt-rock, RnB and funk, breathing an originality into the track. An electric guitar laid into varying sections of the song draws out Ellis' rock influences in a funky, distinctive soundscape of fusion.

"And there’s a course of action made,/ When nobody’s looking./True love’s not for charades," Ellis sings.

Within two weeks of releasing his first demo on Soundcloud earlier this year in February, the clip had amassed over 2,500 plays, and had been reposted 150 times. During this time, Dove attracted the attention of major festival bookers, and is now due to play the Mainstage of Lakefest UK this summer where Clean Bandit, Johnny Marr and McFly will be headlining.

Alongside Lakefest, Ellis also has upcoming shows in Manchester and Dublin this summer- his schedule brimming with festival slots and live performances.

His artistic live shows are not to be missed, promising to immerse his audience within his performance’s explosive experience.

Dove’s desire to positively impact the world can be seen when he raised almost £1500 in February for War Child UK.

With ‘Adonis’ set to premiere soon, Dove Ellis is gearing up to place his stamp on the music industry with his layered narrative techniques and captivating performances.
