Tomike rose to prominence after the release of her soulful debut EP, ‘Stages of Love’, back in 2019.
Breakout singer-songwriter Tomike has dropped her latest soulful R&B number in the form of 'Can't Find You', with production from London-based artist Jack Suddaby - premiered below by Hot Press.
Set to land on streaming services tomorrow, the pair clearly bring out the best in each other. 'Can’t Find You' is focuses on the subject of fear, yet up-tempo guitar and percussion curates a more hopeful ambience. It's an atmospheric alternative song that will stay in your mind long after it finishes playing.
The duo have been working on an exciting collaborative project together, set to drop in early 2022.
Alternative, neo-soul singer Tomike's new single was written about trying to find a loved one in a crowded place. The soulful jazzy vocals paired with Suddaby's clean crisp production evokes a sense of peace - almost as if Tomike has resigned herself to keep searching with optimism instead of worry.
Emerging singer-songwriter Tomike was born in Dublin to Nigerian parents. She takes influence from the likes of Erykah Badu, Sade and Amy Winehouse. Since Tomike unveiled her debut EP ‘Stages of Love’ in 2019, the artist has had a number of stand out moments in her career. She was chosen as one of British Airways’ Next Big Thing for her single ‘You Don’t Really Rate Me’, with the track playing in-flight during throughout 2019 and 2020.

The up-and-comer was also highlighted as a ‘Black Artist to Watch’ by BBC Introducing Merseyside, and later played packed out performances throughout Dublin venues. Tomike was also handpicked as one of 13 artists to perform a live set for a film by Body & Soul Festival, as well as performing a live set for Liverpool Sound City Festival in October 2021. Versatile music producer Jack Suddaby was raised in a tiny countryside village in the middle of the England, but now resides in South London. Formerly known as 'sudders', Jack has spent the last 12 months focusing and mastering his production skills. Armed with a Microkorg, a Juno synth and a crate full of samples, Suddaby is well prepared for a big year in music. With support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing and many more expect big things for the foreseeable future.
