The quintet are quickly taking over the Limerick indie scene, opening for bands like NewDad and milk. - and having recently played their own headline Dolan's Warehouse show.
Limerick-based band, Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets, have released their knockout new single 'running away'.
The five-piece have conquered the uptempo indie-rock sound with their latest drop, featuring outstanding lyrics, exceptional vocals, and musicality unlike any similar bands.
Opening with poignant words: "I've been running away for a while/I've been running away from people I thought I knew," the track is a hopeful ballad, perfectly capturing the band's aim of making music for "twenty-somethings living in a country that completely ignores them."
Dylan Flynn, the group's frontman, boasts out-of-this-world vocals, alongside remarkable guitarist Keegan Forde. An unexpected saxophone line creeps into the track by Chris Britton, a delightful lightness added to the otherwise electric-guitar and drum heavy piece. Drummer Evan Forde creates a sublime beat, adding heaviness but knowing where to peel back when necessary. Phenomenal bass from Emmett Ryan keeps a solid grounding to the track, adding an extra dimension and depth to this spectacular track.
The Limerick group blend elements of jangle-pop and alt-rock, taking influence from bands like The War on Drugs, Radiohead and The 1975.

The quintet met in college and now use their music to delve into themes of loss, relationships and mental health.
Speaking about the new single, frontman Flynn explained: "Running Away is a guitar driven, saxophone soaked anthem that incorporates elements of Indie Rock, Jangle Pop and Power Pop. The songs upbeat feel is contrasted by it's lyrics, which I wrote last year while my grandfather was dying.
"The song covers themes of love and guilt, while trying to process losing someone who was so close to me."
The track was written and recorded from the band's small studio space in Limerick City, with help from Mike Gavin (Windings). Mike co-produced and mixed the track, while Richard Dowling mastered it.
According to their last live show, fans of Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets are in for a treat very soon, with more to come from this band in the near future!
