Ahead of his highly anticipated appearance on the Hot Press Lockdown Sessions' Y&E Series tonight, we're thrilled to premiere Eoin Glackin's new single 'El Dorado'.
The new single showcases the Dublin-born singer-songwriter's compelling gift for storytelling – drawing influence from the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Steve Earle and Christy Moore.
“I was hanging out with a friend the evening after I wrote it," Eoin says of 'El Dorado'. "We were passing a guitar back and forth, so I played it for him. He looked at me when I was finished and asked, ‘Is that about me?’ I just replied, ‘Now you mention it, I think it is!’
"When we were about 10, he became very sick," he continues. "He had a rough time but thankfully came out on the other end. I wasn’t sure where this story came from in my head, but now I do. This story of unbreakable friendship is for him.”
With three acclaimed albums under his belt, as well as support slots for the legendary likes of The Darkness, Joan Armatrading and Aslan, Eoin has emerged as one of the country's most captivatingly original singer-songwriters. His new single follows the success of Eoin's recent release, 'Before The Rain' – which received airplay across Ireland and the UK.
