The single – taken from their latest album – features the voice of the band's late manager, Derek Nally.
Following the release of their vibrant fourth album, Magnify, HamsandwicH are set to share 'Good Friday' as the latest single from the LP, along with a powerful accompanying music video – which Hot Press is delighted to be premiering below, ahead of its official release tomorrow.
The release coincides with the Irish band's 20th anniversary – with HamsandwicH having originally formed at a Good Friday party back in 2003.
They've since carved out a unique position at the forefront of Irish music, thanks to their well-received albums – including their 2008 debut, Carry The Meek – and their incendiary live performances.
“'Good Friday' has received a great response from fans old and new," singer Niamh Farrell says of the track. "It’s a very special song to the band, as you can hear our late manager Derek Nally’s voice in the song. The song is a homage to 20 years of HamsandwicH and holding on to friendships through tough times.”
“This track quickly became a fan favourite for many on their first play of our new album Magnify," guitarist Brian Darcy adds. "It’s has a great bass groove that loops around for most of the track. The dark synths with hopeful lyrics create the perfect musical backdrop to end the album.”

In Kate Brayden's review of the album for Hot Press, she noted that "charming synthpop and layers of psychedelia, Americana, country, rock, indie and more elevate Magnify to higher plains..."
With even more planned over the months ahead, 2023 is already shaping up to be another landmark year for HamsandwicH. Their 20th anniversary celebrations will continue with a run of live shows, including a headline show at the 3Olympia Theatre in Dublin on October 21.
