The single is taken from HAVVK'S forthcoming album, 'Levelling', which is due for release later this year.
Since their debut in 2016, Irish rock outfit HAVVK have been drawing in eager audiences with their haunting sounds, which steer deftly between moments of immersive, atmospheric shoe-gaze to thrashing punk rock.
Today, Hot Press is delighted to premiere their latest single, 'No Patience.’ Expanding and building on their ethereal post-rock sound, the group add a layer of tension to the compelling single, with distorted guitars of the verses juxtaposing lead singer Julie's clear, soaring vocals.
“'No Patience' is about the extreme emotions of going from feeling like you have total control of the path ahead, to feeling suddenly behind and insecure," Julie explains. "It’s a song about the anxious tension between confidence and uncertainty, especially in our youth - which is a big theme in the opening tracks of the new album.”
Never ones to shy away from the political, HAVVK have always tackled topics such as bodily autonomy, gender expression, mental health and equality with ferocious power.
