Listen to the new single from Ivy Bloom below.
Two years after the release of their last single, 'For All Who Dwell', Ivy Bloom are back – with a new single, 'Secrets', out on June 5.
Lead singer Anna Devine, who is one of the Dublin Gospel Choir's main soloists, describes the new release as the "story of a woman with strong determination even though all is lost."
"At first, the song might illustrate as if there are two characters in the story but actually there is only one character in search for a part of herself that she lost," she continues. "The intense vocal melody, bass line and spacing morphs into a tribal labyrinth to compliment the essence of the lyrics.”
With a cinematic sound that draws influence from the likes of Agnes Obel, Sigur Rós and Nils Frahm, Ivy Bloom is made up of an exceptionally talent collection of musicians from diverse backgrounds – including Anna Devine; classically trained guitarist Sarah Hollingsworth; bassist Chris Redmond; Gill Carr, a member of the Schola Gregoriana Choir; and drummer Oisin Breathnach.
