With insightful lyricism cushioned by her characteristically charming vocals and playful guitar line; Bird provides a warm embrace to her listener in this compelling new track.
Tyrone singer-songwriter Lauren Bird has shared the video for her latest single, 'Keep Trying' - premiering exclusively on Hot Press.
Unafraid to speak on behalf of her generation, Bird explores the damaging effects of societal pressures in this comforting letter, taken from her forthcoming EP.
The adorable visuals for Lauren's new single 'Keep Trying' were put together by the folk musician's friend, Caris Rianne - who must have some serious canine connections.
It stars Buddy, Kara, Bella, Jax, Ben, Walter, Izzie, Ozzie, Bella, Amber, Rosie, Poppy, Cooper, Zeke, Tar and Jessie as dogs confessing their inner thoughts and insecurities.
"'Keep Trying' is a song I wrote about my frustrations with societal norms and beauty standards," Bird told Hot Press of the track's genesis.
"I thought a lot about how I felt as a teenager growing up and how uncomfortable I felt in my own skin. Sending love to those who still struggle with looking in the mirror.”

Addressing the unrealistic and unattainable standards placed upon many, "You're smothered by all the things that are impossible to be at once", Bird sings. "Speak your truth, everyone in this room is here for you," she adds, while the restrained, pulsating energy of the song highlights nostalgic elements.
After Bird's self-titled debut EP scored the number one spot on the acoustic Bandcamp chart, Bird went on to win Chordblossom's Kickstart 2015. Since then, the charm, personal style of storytelling and folk sweetness of the musician has allowed her to connect with a burgeoning grassroots audience. Bird released her debut album, The Inbetween, in 2017 after a fundraising campaign and shared folk-pop single 'Millennials' last year.
