Take a look at the video for 'Runaways' below.
Following the release of her stunning single 'Runaways' last year, Dublin-based synth-pop artist Marlae is back with a powerful new music video for the track – premiering below.
Combining soulful lyricism with poignant electronic elements, the single – produced and mixed by Marlae in her home studio in Templeogue, Co. Dublin – explores themes of "escape" and "hitting the road".
“This song – it’s more ‘me’ than what I’ve done before,” she explains.
The video was created by Australian filmmaker Paul Dodd – who reached out via Instagram, after first hearing Marlae's work last year.
“The video takes the viewer from the claustrophobic city scene and transitions into nature which was shot along the Great Ocean Road," Paul comments. "My aim with this production was to have a faceless narrative almost like a POV giving the viewer an experience of escapism in relation to the title of the track 'Runaways'."

Marlae has established herself as a captivatingly original artist on the Irish scene in recent years – with performances at Another Love Story, The Helix, Whelan’s, and the Workman’s Club, as well as sets at Starbuck Sessions, Polska Éire, and the Ruby Sessions.
