This is the first track to be released from Murray's forthcoming EP.
Taking inspiration from legacy singer-songwriters and artists like Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, and Billy Joel, newcomer Niamh Murray is stepping into a spotlight of her own on 'One Last Time'.
Hot Press is delighted to premiere her debut single, written during the pandemic lockdown. The first single to be released from her forthcoming EP, the track features world-renowned session musicians like Liam Bradley (Ronan Keating), Mark Egan (Pat Metheny Group), and John McCullough (Van Morrison). Plus, her mature pop-country sound has caught the attention from internationally-renowned musician Foy Vance.
'One Last Time' is about a relationship coming to an end, and how two people can ‘make or break’ a situation. It follows a poignant journey of self-discovery, as she grapples with following her instincts. Using the influence of music she grew up loving, Murray fuses fresh pop melodies and contemporary harmonies through country and folk roots.
"I wrote the song ‘One last time’ last year during lockdown," Murray explains. "The song is a reminiscence of both the good and bad within a relationship with the chorus continually asking the question, “is this the right decision."
