Derry musician Paul Casey shares new single with Chris Rea with Hotpress ahead of its digital release. Check out an exclusive look at the on-location music video, shot by Casey himself, below.
Derry-born musician Paul Casey has released a brand-new single 'Peace Bridge', written by UK rock legend and Casey's longtime collaborator Chris Rea.
Casey has had a prolific 2023 with four singles, including 'Because I Love You' and 'Green Arrows'. Also the guitarist of musical duo Amberlight, Casey and vocalist Lauren Doherty will play St Columb's Hall, Cinema Room on Friday 1st December.
With 32 UK Top 75 hit singles and nine UK Top 10 albums, Chris Rea's music has been incredibly successful, no doubt due to his distinctive voice and masterful slide guitar playing. Having penned one of the most well-known festive tracks of all time 'Driving Home For Christmas', he now pens another festive track, this time meant for Casey. Rea and Casey are longtime friends and collaborators, ever since Casey was a teenager in Derry sending Rea tapes in the hopes of his talent being recognised.

Recorded at Casey's Cable Junction Studio, complete with a star-studded cast of musicians and a gospel choir, 'Peace Bridge' is a "song for the times we live in," with its wintertime lyrical references and hope-filled instrumentation. The track is released alongside a music video filmed on location against the backdrop of Derry's Peace Bridge, as referenced by Rea in the song.
