PREMIERE: Rachel Mae Hannon releases thoughtful new video for 'Alright'
Take an exclusive first look at the brand new video from Rachel Mae Hannon.
Rising star Rachel Mae Hannon, originally from Monaghan, has dropped a music video for her latest single, 'Alright'.
The funky rhythms juxtaposed with her calming vocal delivery offer a lovely concoction on the track – which now has an accompanying video that Hot Press is proud to premiere.
Featuring Rachel walking through the streets of Dublin, it touches on the major theme of the track, the concept of people not being open about how they truly feel.
"We decided on Richmond St. as the setting for this video, as we felt the graffiti itself gave a layered texture," Rachel explains.
"I thought that this, along with the idea of lipstick or makeup, resembled how people sometimes mask how they really feel - that they might be pretending or covering up their feelings.
"I think it’s a very Irish thing to say ‘I’m grand’ when you could actually be feeling like crap inside. The video shows me having a party by myself in an attempt to almost cheer myself up and convince myself that I’m alright."
Check out the stunning video, directed by Rachel, Barry Kavanagh and Aisling Grennan, below:
