Intricate storytelling from RUNOFFBROKE (real name Jordan Wilson) and Dublin rapper DALY is delivered with precision, empathy and rage.
Long-standing rapper in the Irish scene and former Hot Press Lockdown Sessions performer RUNOFFBROKE has released his second track of the year - 'Lee's Recipe'.
Featuring Dublin rap artist DALY and inspired by true events, the haunting track pays tribute to someone who was once a king operating on a dark walk of life, who ultimately pays the price and is forced to flee.
Featuring slick production and relentless trap beats, RUNOFFBROKE has a clear creative vision for the song itself and isn't afraid to express his storytelling prowess.
The 22-year-old (real name Jordan Wilson) is known for his dark humour, haunting videos, dynamic vocal style and clever, mile-a-minute bars. Involved in the rap scene for over a decade, by the age of 13 he was playing gigs and signed to underground label Mic-A-Blaze Records.
“The song is a double track, to represent the duality of the protagonist and the ups and downs of his story. Sonically the first half is more melodic, while the second half is dark, quiet, and angry.”

The first half - entitled 'The Recipe' - depicts the protagonist on a downward spiral, lamenting over the problems in his life and feeling lost. He’s not able to get his supply because he owes money; taking too much, not selling enough, and feeling guilty about destroying his neighbourhood.
'All of My Life' marks the track's second half, and sees the protagonist walk down the street reflecting on his life, his struggles and how exactly he ended up here following a police raid.
Having nothing left, he accepts that he’s not going to recover from this, while still trying to find reasons that he can.
“My verses reference work ethic and the grind, but also my vision of the future," DALY says of his own contribution to the riveting 'Lee's Recipe'.
"As my flow changes to a battle rap braggadocio vibe, I explain the belief that I’m a top tier MC. All in my life I've been struggling with issues and being pulled back, but inevitably nothing can stop me! Whether it’s arrogance or confidence, it’s correct.”
RUNOFFBROKE worked with multiple Irish groups before making his way to Germany to work with Citizen Soldier Entertainment. He has toured in the US and Germany, supporting artists like Infidelix alongside Papke. After two years in Berlin, Jordan returned to Ireland in 2019 and has since been working on new music, gigging, and building his team.
Finglas rapper DALY (real name Aaron Daly) shared numerous, explosive tracks in 2020; from 'Sure Look' (with Aaron Brooks), 'Sad.' and 'Restecp' to 'Dublin Cries' and 'What You See'. Building his fanbase up from the grassroots level, the Dubliner is sure to make even more waves in 2021.
