Hot Press are proud to premiere the new single from Kilkenny artist SG Guillotine.
Following the release of his Prospect EP last year, Kilkenny hip-hop artist SG Guillotine is back with powerful new single, 'CRASH'.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Tyga and G-Eazy, with a distinctly Irish lyrical twist, SG Guillotine, aka Samuel Guilfoyle, has fearlessly positioned himself at the forefront of the South East's hip-hop boom. On 'CRASH', produced by Atlanta-based South African sensation Epik The Dawn, he explores the journey to success.
“The meaning of the song really sits in the hook," SG reveals in a statement about the release. "'We can’t make it too fast we might crash' refers to the journey to success and that we shouldn't want it too fast because it could cause us to lose the run of ourselves and crash. When I say '200 on dash and laugh it's all gas'. I'm referring to the fast come up and how it can seem really fun in the fast lane. 'We ain't got nothing, we only got time and if you give me yours then you know you got mine' basically means, time is the only thing we have and if you are willing to give me yours then you'll get the same from me.”
Born in England and raised in Kilkenny, SG Guillotine received his musical awakening in the form of Eminem and 50 Cent records. Since launching his career at 16, he has gained acclaim as a member of Craic Appeal Entertainment, released his well-received Prospect EP, and performed at Bare In The Woods in Laois and Ckit Festival in Krakow, Poland.
