"It's a love song but not necessarily romantically."
Dublin songwriter and band-leader Somebody's Child has dropped his latest track, 'Hold Me Like You Wanna', and it's the perfect post-lockdown song for bringing others closer together.
With the indie-rock pop artist's '20-Something' EP ahead of him, the burgeoning voice in the Irish music industry is sharing a nostalgic track yearning for closure and an escape from regret.
Tacking personal and political issues in his music, Somebody's Child and his band of equal musical diversity face up to mental health, dystopia and egotism.
With over a million streams under his belt, the young Dubliner is only garnering more attention for his talents.
"'Hold Me Like You Wanna' is a nostalgic song that triggers feelings of both regret and lack of regret simultaneously," Somebody's Child says.

"It's a love song but not necessarily romantically. Given the climate of the world at the moment, I think it holds a deeper meaning as we all long to spend time together again, but we know that there are risks involved in doing so.”
The release is taken from his upcoming EP, ‘20-Something’, which is scheduled to drop on August 7.
“20-something is the first real taste of who I want to be as an artist and as a songwriter," the frontman said.
"It’s inspired by music I actually listen to on a regular basis. Everything before this has just been to test the waters, but for the first time since this started it feels like this is what I’m really about.”
The upcoming EP is about connecting lyrically with Somebody's Child's fans more so than in his previous work, at a time when the world needs to unite.
The singer's time in Tokyo late last year inspired the colours behind this release's cover, created by Barra Carlin and captured by Nicholas O'Donnell Photography.
The track is out now all streaming platforms.
