Previously of Limerick-based indie-rock band, Lost Boys, Michael Meleady is kicking off his solo music career under the moniker St. George. Hot Press is delighted to premiere the debut offering from the Irish musician, now based in Texas, in the form of harmony-filled, guitar driven single, 'Honey', ahead of it's release tomorrow, June 9.

A mix of dreamy vocals, catchy melodies, and inspired lyrics, 'Honey' is the first of a promised series of releases planned by the artist over this summer. Taking a year in his new Texan home to settle into a sound, Meleady is confident he's in the early stages of an evolving sound - one he can't wait to share with both previous Irish fans and his newfound community in the States.

'Honey' brings dream-like guitar, production, and addictive vocals to the forefront. Lyricism like "Face to face/Another Day/Trapped in total honesty/I'll reconcile what I can change/It's funny how things just slip away" showcases the incredible talent this musician holds, beyond singing, guitar, and keyboard. The first track written without the support of his previous bandmates, 'Honey' shows promise from the young artist, hooking listeners and keeping them eager for more.

"There is a recurring theme of dreaming throughout all my upcoming releases in both the songwriting and production techniques," the singer commented.

According to Meleady: "The track delves into the feeling of being stuck in a situation and longing for something new, using honey as a symbol of something that's missing. It's a relatable theme that many people will have experienced, and I hope that this song can inspire them to take that first step towards making a change."

Michael worked on the production of 'Honey' with his previous bandmat, Patrick O'Donnell, founder and head engineer at Studio 68, based in Limerick. Speaking about this process, Meleady added: "His (Patrick's) guidance and expertise were invaluable in bringing this idea to life."
