We're delighted to premiere the new video from Steo Wall.
Amid increased coronavirus fears and restrictions, Dublin-born singer-songwriter Steo Wall has decided to give people something to smile about – with the new video for his single 'Original Bad Boy Material'.
Taking a hilarious swing at the pressures and facades the music industry, while singing the praises of his Nissan Micra and rapping to a dog, Steo's new video is a light-hearted family affair – featuring appearances from his mother, brother, aunt and cousins.
"It was great craic making this video," he tells Hot Press. "The family and community all mucked in to make it happen. It was like Italia '90 all over again."
"This music video is exactly what the world needs at the minute," he continues. "With all the panic, fear and fear-mongering going on, 'Original Bad Boy Material is a welcomed bit of light-heartedness!"
'Original Bad Boy Material' is taken from Steo's debut album Where I'm From – which was described by Hot Press's Edwin McFee as "excellent stuff".
"Declared 'the real article' by Damien Dempsey, the music on Wall's debut sounds focused and fully-formed and boasts a strong foundation - thanks, in part, to mentor Luka Bloom," McFee wrote. "Buoyed by appearances from those aforementioned Irish legends (as well as David Spillane and more), the 11-track album is brimming with confessional lyrics and a cornucopia of musical styles. It surely signals the start of an exciting career."
