Ahead of his appearance on The Late Late Show this Friday, the socially-conscious singer-songwriter returns with a captivating new music video
Following the release of his powerful single, 'More Blacks More Dogs More Irish', in late 2022, Irish singer-songwriter Steo Wall has returned with an official video for the track – premiering below at 7pm this evening.
Featuring stunning vocals from Toshín, 'More Blacks More Dogs More Irish' – which is the first single to be shared from Steo's highly anticipated second album, Street Wisdom For Lost Souls, out this Spring – takes a fearless stance against racism, homelessness, and living conditions in both direct provision and halting sites. At the heart of the song is a timely message, as Steo calls on Irish people to remember their own history, and have compassion for the struggles of others.
The single further establishes the singer-songwriter – who hails from Shankill, Co. Dublin – as a compellingly passionate and deeply authentic force in Irish music, who's unafraid to tackle some of the harshest realities of modern life through his work.
The video arrives just ahead of Steo's appearance on The Late Late Show this Friday, January 13, for a TradFest special. As part of the upcoming festival, he's set to play a special sold-out show in Dublin Castle on January 25.
In addition to his upcoming album, Steo has plenty more in the pipeline over the months ahead – including a three-part podcast series, My People. The podcast, recorded as part of TradFest, explores the impact and influence that Irish Travellers have had on Irish music, particularly folk and traditional music. The first episode will feature Steo interviewing the iconic singer-songwriter Christy Moore.
