Propeller Palms 'Liberty' - Track Review
With an opening salvo of punchy brass, crunching guitar and rumbling drums, followed in short order by Paul Butler’s breathless vocals, the latest from the Waterford-based festival favourites rolls along like a runaway train. Well-crafted and deftly performed, blending the best elements of vintage r’n’b with latter-day rock and roll, ‘Liberty’ is both soulful and bluesy. With a memorable guitar riff and compelling chorus there’s a classic Jersey Shore/Asbury Park feel - albeit more Southside Johnny than Springsteen, which is no harm at all.
