Multi-instrumental electro-rock outfit Public Service Broadcasting is back and ready to dance.
London indie group Public Service Broadcasting have announced their fourth studio album is to be released on September 24th via Play It Again Sam.
The record, Bright Magic, is the follow-up to the band's 2017 UK top 10 release Every Valley - with the band describing it as their "most ambitious undertaking yet."
Their announcement comes with a new single and video, 'People Let's Dance', featuring Berlin-based singer EERA. The visual, directed by Chloe Hayward, focuses on roller skaters in coloured body jumpsuits performing a synchronised dance to the electronic-based track.
Public Service Broadcasting, formed in 2009, remarked that the album will arrive in three parts entitled Building A City, Building A Myth and Bright Magic. Frontman J. Willgoose Esq. states the album is about Berlin's "history and myths" and his experiences moving to the German capital to write the record.
"Doing this felt inevitable, somehow," the singer says. "It’s quite a personal story. It’s become an album about moving to Berlin to write an album about people who move to Berlin to write an album.”
The band has also announced a UK tour which, although not including an appearance in Ireland yet, features a headlining show at Brixton Academy in London. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.ie on November 10 2021.
Their 2019 set at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin brought praise from Hot Press' Peter McGoran, calling them "one of the most unique, and forward-thinking, bands in the world at the minute."
